Mind, Body and Soul.
Mind, Body and Soul.
So, last week – and a couple of the previous weeks I’ve been discussing how to balance stress, especially when it comes to final exams. However, it’s all been very mentally geared; and this week I’d like to talk about why keeping your connection to your body is always good but can be particularly beneficial when it comes to stress.
The past few months for me have been intensive. I’ve been working hard and pushing my mind to it’s limits – which has been wonderfully, mentally stimulating, but it’s been hard to maintain physical exercise because using your head can be just as exhausting as using your body. I’ve missed quite a few of my weekly yoga sessions because I have either had to study or needed more sleep due to working late, and slowly but surely, it’s taken its toll on me.
This week I got myself up early and out the door to class. It was a hard morning and it took willpower to get myself out of the comfort of my warm and cozy bed, but once I was immersed in the class, stretching, flexing and moving my body and muscles I remembered why I love Yoga so much.
All of a sudden, I was engaged with my body and I could feel my power rushing through my veins. I felt so much more alive and rather than a stressed out discombobulated head! This week I was re-re-re-reminded of how important it is to take care of your body.
Mind, soul and body people. It’s so easy to forget about one of them when we push forward on another, and yet all of them are essential in leading a happy and healthy life.
Buzzed and energized, after that workout, I can’t believe that I struggled to get out of bed, but, I know that next week will be the same until I get back into the routine. Pushing yourself can be hard but it pays off in the end. At ‘Conquering Life’ we never want to push anyone off the ledge but help them push themselves to reach the most of their potential and sometimes that means annoyingly early mornings. Taking care of your body is just as important as everything else in your life and you deserve it!
Finding something in your life that allows you to keep energy going in your limbs, especially if you spend all day at a desk in an office or studying away for an exam, is so important.
‘Conquering Life’ aims to help you achieve a well-balanced and sustainable life – it’s about improving and changing your lifestyle for the long run. You find when you take care of yourself on all levels everything comes together – more exercising leads to better eating and more energy all round, which helps the grey matter in your brains!
Whether or not you opt for the stairs versus the elevator or you sign up for a yoga class, find a time and way to take care of your body that works for you. Just take a step (even the smallest one) in that direction can help you down the path of Conquering Life!
