San Antonio Spurs: 7-2

Someday, the Spurs will be too outdated.
Someday, they’ll succumb to harm.
Now isn’t that day, and Manu Ginobili smirks at you for believing it may be.
Unconcerned with a year-older core and the fact that the Spurs have never repeated as champs, oddsmakers have bestowed the West’s finest odds upon Gregg Popovich and friends. And why not?
San Antonio looked fresh throughout the postseason, thanks largely to a maintenance plan that kept every single Spur under 30 minutes per game throughout the year. Once younger, more athletic teams broke , the well-rested Spurs reach their stride.
Expect them to take the identical approach this season, or even a much more conservative one. The regular season is no more a challenge with this group, and they proved last year that they might essentially give away games without damaging their postseason positioning.
Despite holding veterans out of back-to-back games all season, the Spurs won a league-high 62 competitions.
If something goes awry, perhaps they will slip up and acquire 57 or 58 this season.
San Antonio is the West until proved otherwise.
